How To Achieve The Perfect Curl

Hello my lovelies and happy Friday! I can't tell you how many times a day I get asked how I style my hair. Well today is your lucky day! This style is super quick and easy and can be worn for multiple days. The messier the better honey!

The first step is to start out with day old hair, if you have freshly washed hair that's fine too a little bit of dry shampoo at the roots will add volume and help you hair hold a curl. Before I go in with the hot curling iron I always spray in my Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press thermal protection hairspray (Always Use Protection as my grandma would say). It smells yummy and doesn't make my hair gritty like other brands.

The second step is getting that perfect curl. "Size matters" when it comes to choosing the type of curl you want to achieve. The smaller diameter of the curling iron the tighter the curl, the bigger diameter the softer the curl. I used a 1 inch curling iron for my curls in this post. Sometimes I get a wild hair and mix it up by using both a 1 inch and a 1 1/2 inch curling irons to create an illusion of fuller look. You simply take one inch pieces of your hair and wrap it around the curling iron away from your face. Hold your hair there for 20 seconds and set it free (repeat till your whole head of hair is curled). 

The last step is my Favorite part! Once your hair isn't holding anymore heat run your fingers through your hair, we don't want the curls to be super uniform. Using a texturizing wax will also help make the curls messy and give a matte texture to the ends of your hair. The texturizing wax I use is from Kenra, it's a dry texture spray that is to die for! Simply shake the can and spray through the ends of the curls. 

Viola! You should now have the perfect curl! Through out the day give your hair a little tousle here and there for that "I woke up like this" bed head look.
